Community and stakeholder engagement Canberra
We specialise in stakeholder engagement and community consultation, taking a strategy-first approach that adapts to the unique needs of each project and audience.
Our expertise spans a wide range of services, from stakeholder mapping and engagement plans to facilitating focus groups, information sessions and community consultation. What sets us apart is our commitment to working with you to deeply understand your goals and designing an approach that aligns with them and the needs of your stakeholders.
By engaging with the right mix of people, using the right design method and asking meaningful questions, we can deliver robust and meaningful insights.
As communications and behavioural insights specialists, we also bring deep expertise in reaching and engaging with diverse communities. We believe genuine engagement isn’t just about ticking boxes, it is about listening to what matters most and ensuring they feel heard.
While our experience spans projects across Australia and the Pacific, our roots run deep in the Canberra community. We understand its unique challenges and aspirations.
“Thank you to you and the team for your support in this engagement, it has been wonderful working with you. You made the process much easier for us to navigate, and your advice and experience were greatly appreciated.” – ACT Government Director.
Our approach
Our engagement framework, based on the principles of IAP2, demonstrates our commitment to quality and data-driven decision-making. We complement our engagement training and expertise with our strategic communications approach.
This structure gives us the freedom to be agile and flexible throughout the engagement. Using insights, data, and feedback, we refine our approach during implementation to ensure that we continue to have a high impact.
Our approach is broadly split into four stages:
- Strategy: We believe everything is better with a good plan and that our audience should be at the centre of every decision we make. This initial phase includes defining the project’s objectives and conducting foundational research, such as audience analysis and goal setting. Key activities include a project briefing, desktop research, audience analysis, goal determination, strategy development, and securing commitment from stakeholders.
- Plan: After defining the strategy, this phase involves logistical planning to ensure the engagement activities are organised and tailored. We will develop an agenda with appropriate engagement methods based on known risks and opportunities. We will undertake detailed planning, identifying necessary resources and logistics to make sure we are ready to go.
- Implement: This phase involves the actual engagement activities, where we ensure participants are aware of and ready to participate in our session. We will actively monitor and refine our process throughout delivery to ensure its maximum impact.
- Evaluate: As good communications and engagement professionals, no project is complete without an evaluation so that we can understand the impact of our work and where to go next. The final phase focuses on gathering and analysing data, followed by sharing the outcomes.
Each phase builds on the previous one, creating a continuous cycle for engagement and allowing for improvements in future projects based on past experiences.
